Her Throne of Glass is a blog created for a public humanities project for English 489 at Arizona State University. In this space, we will dive deep into the impact of Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series on the fantasy genre, with a particular focus on its influence through a feminist lens. By examining the themes, characters, and narrative choices in Maas’ work, we aim to explore how Throne of Glass has redefined the way we view female protagonists in fantasy and challenged traditional gender roles in a genre historically dominated by male heroes and tropey female figures.
